Update: "The European Parliament adopted ELTIFs regulation" (13 March 2015)
Yesterday (20 April), the Council adopted a new regulation on European long-term investment funds (ELTIFs).
It is aimed at addressing banks’ reluctance to lend to small businesses or open-ended research projects and designed to benefit the real economy and society by channelling non-bank funds into long-term projects to deliver infrastructure, intellectual property or research results.
New rules will enter into force following its publication in the Official Journal.
