AEMEC is a Spanish non-profit minority shareholders association created to defend and protect the interests of minority shareholders in listed companies. Established in 2012, it promotes active shareholder participation and strengthens communication channels between companies and investors. Since its foundation and formal establishment around the early 2010s, AEMEC has been active in challenging decisions and practices that may harm minority investors, engaging with regulators such as the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), and participating in both national and broader European investor protection forums. AEMEC is a full member of BETTER FINANCE.
