Guillaume Prache, Managing Director at BETTER FINANCE, was quoted in the Financial Times on the "governance of investment funds".

Following the refusal of the Pharmaceutical company Pfizer’s proposal to takeover of UK's AstraZenecamay and several shareholders have asked Astra's board to reopen takeover talks as soon as legally allowed in August, the debate is now focused on the "conflict of interest" between fund managers and the beneficial owners of the shares.

Guillaume Prache believes "this is related to a debate that has been going on with regards to the governance of investment funds".

He added that “as has been documented in a lot of places, fund managers tend to have a short-term view. The turnover of the funds is often more than 100 per cent. Individual shareholders, we think, generally have a long-term horizon. People save to buy a house, for retirement, for their children’s education. That is all long term.”
