The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has launched a support group for advisers wanting to develop automated advice models that seek to deliver a low-cost service.

The unit, which will initially be free of charge for advisers, will provide both individual regulatory feedback on the firms' proposed models and published resources for all firms based on the experience it gains from working with individual advisers.

The regulator said it will evaluate the impact and costs of running the unit in due course and may then consult on an appropriate charging structure for future entries.
