Earlier this year BETTER FINANCE called on policy makers to put an end to financial abuses by ensuring better public enforcement of conduct of business rules and introducing an EU-wide framework for Collective Redress in order to facilitate effective private enforcement. Now the European Commissioner for Justice and Consumer Affairs is calling for an EU-wide Collective Redress framework.

Agence Europe, in its article ‘BETTER FINANCE calls for collective redress system for consumers of financial products’ (Bulletin Quotidien Europe n. 11889 - 24/10/2017), reiterates the Federation’s request for the European Commission establish a system to facilitate collective redress (or, class-actions) for financial services users and investors that would allow for them to obtain redress for damages incurred from professionals in the industry.
