SII, the Polish Association of Individual Investors, is Poland’s largest organisation representing stock market investors. Since 1999 when the organisation started operating, SII has served as a central hub for retail investor education, advocacy, analysis and community engagement in Poland’s capital markets. Today it counts a membership base of over 20,000 individual investors. A core part of SII’s mission is investor protection and rights advocacy. Precisely, it intervenes on behalf of individual shareholders, offers legal support in market-related matters, participates in discussions with regulators and increasingly engages with companies as part of efforts to improve corporate governance, transparency and communications between issuers and retail investors. It also organises large-scale surveys such as the National Investor Survey (Ogólnopolskie Badanie Inwestorów) to shed light on retail investor profiles and needs.
