The European Federation of Employee Share Ownership (EFES) acts as a European umbrella organisation promoting employee ownership and participation. Since its founding in 1998, EFES has been recognised by the European Commission (DG Enterprise and Industry) as the European Business Representative Organisation in the field of employee share ownership, reflecting its role in advocacy and policy discourse at the EU level. The federation’s membership spans organisations and individuals from across Europe, including national associations promoting employee ownership, trade union representatives, corporate members of all sizes, academic researchers and service providers active in this field. EFES is an associate member of BETTER FINANCE.
