UKSA is an independent organisation representing the interests of private shareholders in the United Kingdom.Established in 1992, UKSA is the UK’s oldest shareholder campaigning body. Funded by membership subscriptions and led by volunteers, the organisations is committed to improving the investment environment for retail investors. UKSA works to support investors in making informed decisions, shares knowledge and promotes responsible investing while advocating to strengthen shareholder rights and improve corporate governance standards among publicly listed companies. The organisation also engages in policy advocacy and regulatory dialogue by responding to consultations from the UK government and other authorities on issues that affect shareholder rights, market transparency and investor protection. It has participated in major governance debates and reports and campaigns to ensure that the voices of individual investors are heard in corporate and regulatory reform.
