PEKABE (Schutzverband der Pensionskassenberechtigten) is an independent Austrian non-profit association founded in January 2005 to protect the rights and interests of occupational pension fund beneficiaries and prospective beneficiaries under Austria’s pension system. It represents citizens’ interests vis-à-vis politicians, employers, interest groups and pension funds. PEKABE acts as a consumer-oriented advocacy organisation that informs, advises and supports those affected by pension policy and practice. PEKABE’s work focuses on safeguarding fair treatment, transparency and sustainable pension outcomes by engaging with legislators, regulators and employers to influence reforms of the Pensionskassengesetz (Pension Fund Act) and related frameworks. PEKABE is a full member of BETTER FINANCE.
