Are you interested in what Jonathan Hill, Commissioner-designate for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, has to say during his hearing in the European Parliament? BETTER FINANCE certainly is.
Parliamentary Committees will be "grilling" the Commissioners-to-be until October 7 2014. Jonathan Hill's turn to answer questions is on Wednesday, October 1 2014, at the same time as Věra Jourová, who will reportedly be in charge of remuneration, including enforcing the cap on bankers’ bonuses.
“I expect all hearings to be tough, but probably the Hill hearing will be one of the livelier ones,” said Roberto Gualtieri, Italian MEP and Chairman of the economic affairs committee (ECON). Juncker's decision to give Hill the financial portfolio has been questioned on many fronts: of a particular concern are Hill’s ties to the City of London bankers and his lobbyist past.
To watch the hearing live, make sure to tune in at 1.30 pm on October 1 2014. Please find here the complete hearing schedule.
