Funds Europe reported that financial services markets are expected to generate higher returns in the forthcoming year, according to ‘[a]lmost half (48%) of UK financial advisers’.

The financial forecast is based on the Advisers Attitude Report 2017 of Aegon, a company that provides life insurances, pension savings and asset management. However, the optimistic forecast is followed by a ‘but’, the chaperone of any good news.

According to the report, ‘stock market volatility’ now represents the biggest issue for short-term investors, with one out of three financial advisers judging that it will have ‘the most significant impact over the next two years’.

On a different note, Aegon’s survey shows that a lower, but still relevant proportion of UK financial advisers believe that Brexit will actually be the factor with the most significant impact on investors’ wealth.
