On the 26th of June, the European Commission will hold a conference on EU Corporate Governance.
The conference will be organized in 2 panels.
The first one will discuss whether the use of modern technologies render corporate governance more effective. Despite the development of new financial technologies, it appears that the flow of information and direct interaction between the management, the boards and the shareholders is often costly, ineffective or even not possible, particularly across borders. The Panel will discuss how technology can improve the interaction between the management, the boards and the shareholders.
The second panel will focus on whether modern corporate governance can help companies meet the challenge of the XXI century (climate change, social challenges, demographic transition, inequalities…).
