The post-EU era – Asset managers increasingly worried

While voters are called upon to vote today in the UK to provide (or not) Theresa May with a strong majority government for the up-coming negotiations with the EU, asset managers seem increasingly  worried about the access to investors in the EU when the UK finally leaves the EU common market.

In a poll taken by Cordium, 67% of asset managers have expressed their concerns regarding the access to European investors in the case of a hard Brexit (supported by May’s government).

Whereas the negotiations are about to start between the UK and the EU, it seems that so far only 53% of asset managers have started their “Brexit planning”.

Commenting on these results, Stephen Burke, Corporate Government Director of Cordium warned that UK firms will face a massive Brexit task and need to prepare for the post-EU era before the outcome of the negotiations.
